Get to Know CTAHealth Benefits

CTAHealth Benefits LLC may have a short history, but Charlie Albert, CEBS, RHU has vast experience.  

I have been in the Health & Welfare Benefits industry for over 40 years (1982 to present). This includes time working for industry leaders such as CareFirst BlueCross BlueShield, UNUM and multiple successful health insurance brokerage operations.  My experiences range from customer service, management, claims processing to sales. Before creating CTAHealth Benefits, I was an Account Manager for the CareFirst Third Party Administrator of self-insured health plans – CareFirst Administrators/NCAS. This involved me in every aspect of health plan administration from quarterbacking the implementation of new health plans to the creation of ID cards. I have assisted employers ranging from 25,000 to 2 employees, as well as individual families.

My experience working for the insurance carriers and a third party administrator (TPA) gives me a unique ability to help clients. Understanding the inner workings of the carriers and having many contacts within the carriers and TPA's helps resolve issues favorably for my clients.

I have earned the Certified Employee Benefit Specialist (CEBS) designation from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and the International Foundation of Employee Benefit Plans, in addition to the Registered Health Underwriter (RHU) designation from the American College.  I hold a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from the University of Richmond.
